Getting Back on That Damn Horse

Hi everyone!

Sorry I didn’t get around to posting yesterday, I had my family over for a few days and wanted to spend as much time with them as I could. We had a very busy weekend/week, we celebrated Easter at a family reunion and my littlest brother’s 6th birthday (Star Wars theme was a major hit with the 6 year old crowd just FYI).

our weekend

1) Seth’s birthday 2) Family time with my oldest brother who is now old enough to buy alcohol without me 3) Family reunion with the hubby

With Easter having just happened and family being around my eating habits have been pretty awful this past week. I’ve fallen off the horse (again) and I’m making my way back up (again). It’s a constant process, but getting back up is what matters. With all the activity, working out was the last thing I wanted to do today, but I ended up doing it anyway (not without a little encouragement from my trainer). Tonight I’m hoping for a full nights sleep so I won’t be quite so dead tomorrow. This morning I was a reminiscent of The Walking Dead, I rolled out of bed barely in time for work and fought my way through the day with a little help from my good friend caffeine. Staying up till 2 am every night for 5 nights in a row is not something I recommend (though I did enjoy the late night family movie/game nights).  Knocking out early is definitely in the cards tonight.

Here are a few images from this week’s work outs. I was finally able to squat with weight again and my back has been a lot stronger though I’m still trying to be careful and not lift too heavy. Also small victory (might be a little TMI but whatevs) while looking in the mirror yesterday I noticed that the fat roll above my butt has completely disappeared and my back is looking way smaller than usual (whooo progress! now to get rid of the love handles, the spare tire, and the chub rub…).
